Department of Oral Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry UNHAS Participated in International Collaborative Symposium in Malaysia
The Department of Oral Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) participated in the International Collaborative Symposium on Development of Human Resources in Practical Oral Health and Treatment, held at the Royal Chulan Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 8–9 February 2026. This symposium was organized as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen international academic networking and enhance human resource development in oral and dental health, particularly in improving clinical practice competencies and fostering global collaboration in oral healthcare.

During the symposium, faculty members of the Department of Oral Medicine: drg. Israyani, Ph.D., Sp.PM., Subsp.Inf(K); drg. Nur Asmi Usman, Sp.PM., Subsp.NonInf(K); and drg. Andi Anggun Mauliana Putri, MHPE., Sp.PM., together with Oral Medicine residents St. Aisyah Salma Danto, Indah Faradiba Fitriana, Nurhaida Lamlanto, and A. Rizqi Julianty Abnas, actively participated through oral and poster presentations. These presentations showcased research findings and clinical case reports in the field of Oral Medicine, serving as a platform for academic exchange, dissemination of scientific work, and expansion of international collaborative networks.
The symposium was conducted in an interactive format, featuring scientific presentations, panel discussions, and collaborative forums. These activities are expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of dental education and oral healthcare services at a global level.
Following the scientific sessions, on 10 February 2026, the delegation continued their academic agenda with a campus visit to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The visit aimed to observe educational facilities, research laboratories, and clinical service systems at the Faculty of Dentistry, UKM. This academic visit marked an important step in strengthening bilateral institutional relationships and exploring future strategic collaborations, including student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and the development of internationally standardized Oral Medicine specialist curriculum.
