On Monday, 23 March 2026, the International Academic Consortium for Sustainable Cities (IACSC) held a coordination meeting at the IACSC Center, Yokohama City University (YCU), Japan. The primary agenda focused on the accountability report from Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), which served as the host for the previous year’s IACSC Annual Meeting. The session was attended by representatives from all member institutions, including Yokohama City University (Japan), Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia), the University of the Philippines (Philippines), Thammasat University (Thailand), Vietnam National University (Vietnam), and UNHAS (Indonesia).

Following the presentation of the report by UNHAS, the meeting transitioned into a strategic discussion regarding the future direction of the consortium. Mr. Yves, acting as the moderator, facilitated a session aimed at shaping the consortium’s identity and visibility in the coming years. This forward-looking segment encouraged active participation from all members, who shared diverse ideas to strengthen the network’s regional impact.
A significant portion of the dialogue centered on expanding academic synergy, particularly through research collaboration. During these discussions, the International Office of UNHAS took the opportunity to invite member universities to send their students to the 9th International Cultural Program (ICP). Recognizing the value of this initiative, Mr. Yves requested permission from UNHAS to distribute the ICP information to the entire consortium network to ensure maximum participation.

The meeting concluded on a high note, with members expressing a shared optimism for the future. There was a unanimous commitment to fostering stronger, more integrated collaborations in the years to come, reinforcing the consortium’s dedication to sustainable urban development and international academic exchange.
